The Submarine Threat

Some time ago I posted an article that talked about the Golf issue (No not Kim Jong-il hitting 11 hole-in-ones). I noted that if North Korea can get a missile to fit in there, then there will be some problems. But let me think that over. It won't cause many problems. The Golf-class was a 50's diesel design made by the Russians back in the Cold War who wanted an enormous submarine force. It's noisy just like many other Russian diesel designs, most notably the Kilo. Plus, North Korea does not have the ships to support its Golf. They cannot send in a battle group, the KPAN is a coastal defense force. The Golf-class will just be another launch pad for missiles. It can't go anywhere without being tracked by ROKN, USN, and JMSDF ships and submarines and it can't be submerged for too long. The KPAN is still a joke, even of they get their missiles on the Golf-class.
